THIS WEEKEND

is the Fiber Exchange Guild's Fall Fiber Festival and Market.

Victoria and others have done a super job! There are about 30 vendors coming, and there will be fiber animals, music, workshops (sock knitting by Nancy R!) and all kinds of fiber and stuff. Please attend if you can.

What fun! I'm a little envious -- there is close to zero fibery activity in my warm-climate town.

So sad! I sometimes wish that I lived even further north - like in Madison, Wisconsin - so I could wear more wool and for longer.

But still, there is silk, flax and cotton!

There was no perceptible fiber activity in this area until my friends chose to start the guild and create a public awareness of the joys of all fiber. I would like to say that I had a part in this but I can't. Okay, so I sold some yarn and roving at my defunct store and I do my share of knitting and spinning in public, but it was really Victoria, Sharon, and Dana that did all the hard work.
