Yes, and only an unthinking testosterone led guy would listen. However, as one of my gay friends noted recently. Those straight guys are something else. Did their girlfriend/wife/whatever just say yesterday what they wanted for a present? We highly doubt that so why are they paying the big bucks to ship things last minute?
I love it!! I well remember the time that one of my best friends showed off her engagement ring to me, to the tune of $20,000 (no joke). I went home, pulled Rick aside, and told him that if he EVER spent that much money to buy me a rock, I'd kill him dead. Of course, it never would have occurred to him to do that anyway, which is why I was already married to him :)

I cannot imagine spending a down payment on a house for a piece of jewelry, now matter how sparkly.
